University of Chicago's Little Neo-Gothic Quad

$ 38.00

Dimensions: 12" x 16"

I love the University of Chicago's campus. I especially love the original, main quad at the heart of the campus. It was planned and built in the late 1800s and is an amazing burst of neo-gothic style.

What I find most interesting is that the quad feels like a little walled medieval city. There is a beautiful continuity of architectural elements throughout (with some rare exceptions, like Pick Hall, where I did the international relations graduate program).

You've got to love the gray stone, the vaulted windows, and the stained glass.

There may be university buildings that exist outside of the quad, but let's call this the heart of the school, the place that will always feel synonymous with the name "University of Chicago."

Printed on museum-quality, matte finish paper. Shipped with care in a hard mailing tube, to Chicago and locations beyond.
