Founded by artist Phil Thompson, the studio creates artwork and products that celebrate the character of place and the stories woven into it.

For almost two decades in Chicago and now in historic Lancaster, PA, Wonder City has drawn inspiration from history and the built environment. Along the way, Wonder City Studio has been featured in media outlets like Apartment Therapy, Chicago Tribune, Business Insider, Block Club Chicago, and many others.

At its heart, the studio is a family endeavor, with Phil, his wife Katie, and their dog Vincent all shaping the work in meaningful ways.
