We create artwork that honors the architecture and history of places worth preserving, with a special love for Chicago. We help our clients honor cherished homes, buildings, neighborhoods, cities; and we partner with organizations with similar missions.

Based along the Ravenswood corridor, Wonder City Studio was founded by Katie Lauffenburger and Phil Thompson.

The built environment is an ongoing dialogue between past and present. It tells us who we were, who came before us, how we used to live, how we aspire to live. The built environment and the spaces we inhabit are artifacts of choices made, and they orient our lives. We believe that places worth preserving teach us how to live today.

We sell through a variety of great retail partners (click on the tab below to see a list). You can find us at shows like the One of a Kind Show, Renegade Craft Fair, and Show of Hands, among others. You might have seen our work displayed at the Chicago Architecture Center, the Field Museum, or on screen in "The Big Sick" and Netflix's "Easy."

Our work has been featured in ArchDaily, Apartment Therapy, Block Club Chicago, Chicago Tribune, Chicagoist, Curbed, Daily Candy, DNAinfo, Modern Luxury Interiors, Thrillist, Washington Post.
